General information about Pine Park

Description: Pine Park is a wonderland of white volcanic cones and peaks, located about 25mi west of the small town of Enterprise.
To get to Pine Park, turn left onto State Route 219 in Enterprise and drive west for about 15mi until the road becomes Crestline Road. Then turn left onto Forest Road 001. After another 9mi you reach the park. About two thirds of the drive is unpaved. During our visit, we first drove past all the white formations of Pine Park and started our tour at the campsite parking lot. There are numerous white cone formations in the area. During our visit in June 2023, we took a closer look at four of them. We spent a total of three hours in the area.
Our rating: We really liked the photos we had seen of Pine Park beforehand. But it was the same here as so often. Photos don't really reflect how beautiful a place actually is. We really liked the area very much. The remoteness was particularly appealing to us, because you can roam everywhere and explore everything in peace.

Pine Park - camping site

Description: This is by far the smallest and least impressive group. You can explore it in 10 minutes from the campsite parking lot. The campsite is at the end of the road. We drove there first and then drove back down the road to explore the other groups.

Pine Park - First Group

Description: This group is located below the road shortly after the campsite on the right-hand side. You drive right past it. If you want to explore this area, you have to be a little careful, as it is very steep and sandy in places and therefore very slippery. This group is much larger than the group at the campsite and consists almost exclusively of the white hats. There are occasionally a few green trees in between.

Pine Park - Second Group

Description: This group is located a few hundered feet after the first group, also on the right-hand side and above the road. To explore this area, you have to scramble a little. There are also countless white hats. It's very difficult to say how long you'll need, as you could basically spend a few hours here. There is a lot to explore.

Description: The third and last group we looked at was by far the largest and it was also the group we liked best. Even though you have to walk and climb here the most compared to the other groups, we liked the white formations most.
