Scenic Highway 395

Description: The California portion of Route 395 is 557mi long and runs from Hesperia in the south to the Nevada border in the north. The road runs along the eastern Sierra Nevada and offers great views of the mountains almost the entire way. Along the entire length of the road there are numerous sights that invite you to stop again and again.

Our rating: During our tours we have been here several times. Last but not least, the highway offers the connection between Death Valley NP and Tioga Pass. Here you have a possibility to cross the Sierra Nevada to get e.g. relatively easy to San Francisco. Because of the very picturesque mountains, the road is also great if you just drive along it without visiting anything special.
