Butler Wash Ruins

Description: With easy access, the Butler Wash Ruins are a much-visited and popular Anasazi site. It is located on Highway 95 southwest of Blanding. The parking lot is right off the highway and is signposted. There is a well-maintained 0,.4mi hiking trail to a fenced lookout point. This is signposted and overlooks the ruins. The Butler Wash Ruins are a great place to see Anasazi ruins in their natural setting.

Trail length: approx. 0.4mi roundtrip
Altitude difference: approx. 13feet
Time needed: 1hour
Difficulty level: easy

Our rating: We liked the short hike to the viewpoint. As everywhere in the southwest, there is always something to discover along the way. The ruins here are really impressive and beautifully situated. If you walk a little towards the ruins on the rim, you can also discover a beautiful arch. If you know where to look, you can also see the arch from the viewpoint. We think that a detour here is definitely worthwhile.
