Julia Pfeiffer Burns SP

Description: There are some hiking trails at Julia Pfeiffer Burns SP, but there is no access to the ocean. We were here in early September to check out McWay Fall. You can't walk the trail all the way to the end because parts of it have eroded and so the last part is closed. But you can still see the waterfall.

The trail starts at the south end of the parking lot and is only a few hundred yards long. This leads on an unpaved path, under Highway 1 to the coast. There is no access to the waterfall and the beach.

Our rating: The waterfall is pretty and very easy to reach. Therefore, you can make stop here. Since we were here on a Sunday, the park was very crowded and the short trail accordingly populated. this has slightly diminished the experience.
