Napa Valley

Description: Napa Valley is a wine growing region north of San Francisco. There are numerous wineries to visit. We chose to visit Charles Krug in August 1992. Charles Krug was the first commercial winery in St. Helena in 1861.

Our rating: The real reason for visiting Napa Valley was one of our favorite series filmed nearby. Falcon Crest. Unfortunately, it was not possible to visit the Spring Mountain winery in 1992, because it was privately owned and not open to the public. So unfortunately we had to be content with a photo over the fence. In the meantime, the visit is possible and maybe my dream will come true someday...

Another attraction in Napa Valley is Old Faithful, a geyser near Calistoga. It was created in 1870 when a geothermal reservoir was accidentally drilled.
