Note: On dirt roads, road conditions can change constantly. Therefore, we strongly recommend that everyone check the road conditions before each trip. We do not recommend driving on unpaved roads before, during or shortly after rain or snowfall.

Onion Creek

Description: Coming from Moab you reach the Onion Creek via Scenic Road 128. After about 20mi you turn off this road into the unpaved dirt road. During the 10mi drive we crossed the Creek 23 times. Depending on the water level there can be more or less crossings. Normally it should be possible to drive through them without any problems. Nevertheless, a car with high ground clearance is beneficial for the drive. The road climbs continuously and is very varied. So you drive through a canyon past colorful, huge rocks and finally you reach Fisher Valley. This is where we turned around.

Our rating: We drove the road through Onion Creek in April 2022. We enjoyed the drive very much. With great weather, we were able to really enjoy the beautiful views and the drive. It was fun to explore the area. Except for a few other cars, we were alone during our time here. Time required about 2-3 hours.
