Trailhead und Parkplatz an der Cedar Wash Rd

Covered Wagon Bridge

Description: This natural bridge is located about 9mi south of Escalante and is part of the Great Staircase Escalante NM. You reach the trailhead via the unpaved Cedar Wash Road. It was in good condition when we visited in April 2022. If you follow the trail from here in a straight line down into the wash, you are almost directly in front of the bridge. Directly behind the bridge is also an interesting alcove.

Trail length: approx. 0.4mi
Altitude difference: approx. 164ft
Time needed: 1 hour
Difficulty level: easy

Our rating: We liked this small natural bridge very much. Perhaps also because we could enjoy it all to ourselves. We can recommend this little side trip. The visit can also be combined with the Cedar Wash Arch about a mile to the east.
