Our visits: As this is one of the most beautiful sections of Scenic Road 12, we have passed here many times on our travels through the southwest. An exact number can not be reconstructed. Our last visit was in June 2023.
The Hogback
Description: The Hogback is a section of Scenic Byway 12 that crosses a sandstone ridge. To the left and right of the road are canyons and spectacular views. There are numerous paved parking spots to catch a glimpse at Boulder and Calf Creek canyon.
Our rating: No matter how many times you've passed by here, you just have to stop and let your eyes wander. No matter what time of year, it's just great and you always discover new details.
