City of Rocks

Description: City of Rocks is a tiny state park that protects great granite rocks of volcanic origin. It is especially popular with campers, as it is home to a very nice campground. The park is only about 0.77mi large. There are many paths between the rocks where you can explore everything of interest. The trails are all flat, very well developed so you can hike everywhere quite easily.

Our rating: The park is quite nice. We wouldn't make any huge detours for it now, but if you're traveling nearby, a side trip is quite fun. Within a good hour you should have walked around most of the rocks.
