Antelope Island SP

Description: The state park is located on Antelope Island, the largest island in the Great Salt Lake, west of Salt Lake City. The island is accessed by a causeway. The park offers several recreational opportunities. There is also a visitor center and two campgrounds on the island.

Our rating: We didn't expect much at all from the state park and were very pleasantly surprised. The island offers a varied landscape and many beautiful views of mountains and the huge salt lake. In addition to the herd of bison that lives here, we could also observe antelopes. The only negative thing were the billions of mosquitoes that made getting out of the car really unpleasant. All in all, however, we liked the visit here very much.

Lady Finger Point Trail

Description: The short trail is located at the northernmost point of the island. You walk a short distance along the shore and have beautiful views of the island, the lake and the mountains on the surrounding mainland.

Trail length: 0.5mi roundtrip
Altitude difference:
Time needed: 1/2 hour
Difficulty level: easy

Our rating: This is a nice, non-strenuous tail that provides a nice opportunity to stretch your legs a bit. The only really disturbing thing were the millions of mosquitoes that buzzed around us almost the entire way.
