Inchworm Arch

Description: The Inchworm Arch is located in the northeast of Kanab. You can reach it via Johnson Canyon Rd. From here you drive about 10mi to the Nephi Pasture Staging Area. Starting from here the 11mi long drive to the arch starts. The whole road is unpaved, partly very sandy and requires a vehicle with high ground clearance and 4-wheel drive. Since we didn't want to take any risks with our rental car, we decided to take a guided tour. In Kanab there are several companies that offer tours. We have chosen Coral Cliffs Tours . The tour took three hours. We recommend that anyone heading out on their own use a GPS track to get there. There are many roads in the area and it is easy to get lost.

Once you get to the trailhead, the hike is no longer a problem. It's only a few hundred feet down a small hill. The pretty Arch winds down the hill like a inchworm and is easy to see from a distance.

Trail length: approx. 0.5mi
Altitude difference: approx. 230ft
Time needed: 3 hours
Difficulty level: easy

Our rating: We enjoyed the visit to the Inchworm Arch very much. Of course, it's especially great, at such secluded locations, that you're mostly all alone and can enjoy nature in peace. It was just fun to discover the arch and the surroundings.
