Coffee, coffee, coffee...
Treat from the coffee bean
Coffee is part of our lives. That's why we're always on the hunt for small, charming, and unique cafés when we're out and about, so we can indulge our passion. In the future, we plan to create a collection of places we've visited in Canada. We want to share the places we've already found with all the coffee lovers out there. The order is random and does not represent a ranking.
Affogoato Café + Gelato
Riverfront Entrance, 72 Main St E, Huntsville, Ontario
HOMEPAGE
Our rating: Affogato Café and Gelato is a nice little store right on the river in Huntsville, Ontario. We didn't try the gelato, but, more importantly for us, the coffee was super tasty. In addition to the cafe, they also have lots of goodies like macarons and croissants. We can definitely recommend the small café.
Tobermory Coffee Company
23 Carlton Str, Tobermory. Ontario
HOMEPAGE
Our rating: The café is located just outside the center of Tobermory, right next to the ferry terminal. However, since Tobermory is very small, you can practically walk to this little café from anywhere. We really liked the coffee here. They also had delicious pastries and croissants. For us, it was the place to go for breakfast.
Tim Hortons
874 Sinclair Rd, Oakville, ON L6K 2H3
HOMEPAGE
Description: Tim Hortons is basically the Canadian equivalent of Starbucks. The chain, which can be found all over Kandada, used to specialize in coffee and dounuts. Today, however, you can find plenty of other snacks and sandwiches in the restaurants.
Our rating: Since there are branches of Tim Hortons literally on every corner and in as good as every small town, they were often the place to go in order to provide us with coffee and a delicious muffin, donut or croissant on the way.
The coffee is good, and since Canada is familiar with the concept of espresso cups, unlike in the US, you never have to drink espresso from 500 ml cups. Since the price-performance ratio is also good here, we always prefer Tim Hortons to Starbucks.
