Distillery District
Description: The Distillery District is a historic industrial neighborhood that is now used as an arts and entertainment district. It consists of 44 heritage-listed brick buildings, making it the largest collection of Victorian-era industrial buildings in North America. The site was built in 1832 by Gooderham and Worts, a company that became the largest distillery in the world in the late 1860s. It mainly produced whiskey for export. Today, there are numerous restaurants, shops, and galleries here. Many events, such as the Advent market, also take place here.
Our rating: We liked the Distillery District. The historic brick buildings and art installations offer beautiful photo opportunities, and the shops and restaurants invite you to stop by. Since there are no cars on the streets, visitors can enjoy a totally relaxed pedestrian zone experience.
