Positive: Great location, comfortable bed, everything very clean. Parking spot right outside the room.
Negative: The smallest bathroom we have ever seen in a hotel. The sink is about the size of a small dog bowl. Hardly any storage space in the room. Breakfast not included in the price.

Positive: New and modern motel. Excellent location.
Negative: No one from the hotel is on site. All communication and check-in/check-out is done via email. No elevator. Breakfast is not included in the price.

Positive: Large room, garden with seating area away from the street. Parking space directly in front of the room. Very reasonable price for Sault Ste. Marie.
Negative: Very small bathroom, worn-out motel, poorly maintained outdoor area. We couldn't understand the very good reviews. Breakfast not included in the price.

Mystic Isle Motel, Wawa

Positive: We received a very warm welcome. The grounds are very well maintained. The rooms were large, very clean, and equipped with everything you need for a pleasant, comfortable stay.
Negative: Everything was perfect here. Breakfast not included in the price.
We spent one night here in September 2025. We enjoyed it so much that we spontaneously decided to spend another night here in October 2025 on our way back from Thunder Bay.
Travelodge, Marathon

Positive: New-looking facility. Tim Hortons right outside the door. Large room, everything was clean. Normal standard for a rather simple motel.
Negative: No particular negative points. Breakfast not included in the price.

Best Western Nor´Wester Hotel, Thunder Bay

Positive: Nice facility just outside Thunder Bay. Without even asking, we got a great upgrade to a larger room with a balcony and mountain views thanks to our BW status. The hotel isn't brand new, but it's very well maintained and clean. The price includes a fresh breakfast prepared in the adjoining restaurant. Free parking.
Negative: No specific negative.

Positive: Small, privately run motel. Clean and functional. Parking directly in front of the room.
Negative: Very small bathroom. All in all, we found the room to be rather uninviting. Breakfast not included in the price.

Airbnb Cottage, Lake of Bays

Positive: Great new cottage. Very good location. Fully equipped kitchen, patio with screen, which is especially nice in summer. Barbecue, fire pit. Everything was well maintained and clean. It had everything you could want for a wonderful stay.
Negative: The only slight downside is perhaps that the house is not actually located on a lake but rather on a marsh.

Courtyard Downtown, Ottawa

Positive: Good hotel in a very good location right next to Byward Market. Most tourist attractions in downtown are within walking distance. Large, clean rooms. Elevator.
Negative: Parking 35 CAD/night. Limited parking spaces, some in the garage and relatively tight. Breakfast not included in the price.

Positive: Rooms are okay and clean. Simple breakfast included in the price. Free parking. Good value, okay for one night.
Negative: Very basic motel. Recently refurbished former Travelodge motel. Not particularly comfortable. Breakfast room is very small, so guests are assigned times. Even so, the room is barely big enough.

The Union Hotel, Toronto

Positive: Newly renovated hotel right on Union Square. Modern and clean. Restaurant and nice lobby area. Friendly and courteous hotel staff. Very good location.
Negative: Perhaps not unusual for a downtown hotel in a big city, but everything is functional, but very small. There is hardly any space in the room to put down and open a suitcase. Very little storage space. Breakfast is not included in the price. Parking is available in one of the surrounding parking garages, but is not included in the price.
