Highlights in Northern Ontario

Northern Ontario is huge and stretches all the way up to Hudson Bay. Apart from the two main Trans-Canada Highway routes, there is very little infrastructure. This is probably why most tourists tend to stay mainly in the towns around the northern shore of Lake Superior. There are several provincial parks and small towns here, which are populated by large numbers of people, especially in summer. Nevertheless, visitors are more likely to find peace and quiet and wild nature than mass tourism.
