Fire Tower Lookout

Description: Elliot Lake is located about 25km north of the Trans-Canada Highway. Here you will find the Elliot Lake Fire Tower, which offers a great view of the surrounding forests and lakes. There are picnic benches and a large parking lot, so it can get quite busy here, especially on weekends in autumn when the trees change color.

Admission fees: Free of charge
Opening hours: Open seasonally – 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The access road is usually closed for the winter at the end of November. The viewpoint can be reached on foot.

Our rating: We also took the short detour on our route westward to admire the colorful sea of trees. The view is great and we really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, however, there is backlighting here all day long, which somewhat limits the experience. But who wants to complain about great weather and sunshine? We highly recommend a detour here, especially in autumn.
