Downtown Montreal

Québec

Downtown

Description: Just like most major cities in North America, Downtown Montreal is home to numerous skyscrapers, which house mainly offices, but also numerous restaurants and stores. Fun Fact: None of the skyscrapers may be higher than the neighboring Mont Royal.

Our rating: Basically we liked Montreal very much. Despite the many people and the sometimes dense traffic, we did not perceive the city as very exhausting. Since there are also many churches and other historic buildings between the modern skyscrapers, there is also a lot of cultural and visual variety.

3.5/5

Oasis

Description: Spanning over four rooms, Oasis creates an immersive experience for the visitor. Prices vary greatly depending on the time and day of the week, starting at around 20CAD/person. All important information regarding a visit can also be found on the official homepage.

For the GPS: 301 Rue Saint-Antoine O, Montréal

Our rating: This was the first immersive experience of this kind for us. Our evaluation was a bit divided, because for us not all projections were such that you really felt in the middle of it. Nevertheless, we felt that it was very interesting to experience this.

3.5/5

Barbie Expo

Description: Barbie Expo is the largest permanent exhibition of Barbie dolls in the world. There are several hundred exhibits, some of which are dressed in noble robes. Admission is free of charge.

For the GPS: 1455 Rue Peel suite 206, Montréal

Our rating: For all Barbie fans, this is certainly a must-see. For us, it was quite a nice stopover on our shopping tour through downtown Montreal. The many artfully designed dresses in mini format were quite impressive.

Old Montreal

Description: The old town from the 17th century is located directly on the St. Lawrence River. Here you can find many historic buildings in which there are numerous nice stores, cozy cafes and restaurants, where you can find plenty of opportunities to linger. One of the most touristy places is probably Notre Dam de Montreal. It is usually very busy here and therefore it is usually a good idea to get tickets online beforehand.

Our rating: Unfortunately, we did not have nice weather during our visit to Old Montreal. So we had only a stroll through the streets. To sit outside it was just too uncomfortable. Nevertheless, we liked it very much and we can well imagine to spend more time here in the future.
