Fast Food

fast, faster, fastest

One of the greatest things about our travels is exploring the culinary offerings at our vacation destination.

Although you can't really talk about culinary delights when it comes to fast food. It's more about getting cheap and fast food. Usually not necessarily healthy but sometimes a good and quick way to satisfy your hunger. We're not the biggest fast food fans, but we do like a few of the numerous chains.

Warning:!!! Pictures of food cause hunger even if this food is not necessarily healthy for the human body.

Mary Brown Chicken

Description: Mary Brown's Chicken is Canada's largest chicken fast food chain. It was founded in 1969 in St. John's, Newfoundland. The chain is known for its fresh preparation approach and specializes in fried chicken. In 2025, the chain had more than 280 locations across Canada. The food is freshly prepared in-store every day. The chicken is cut and breaded by hand, and the potatoes are freshly cut on site every day.

Our rating: The burger didn't look very appealing, but it tasted okay. If you like chicken, you'll definitely find something here. Since Mary Brown Chicken is very widespread and can even be found in remote locations, it's sometimes the only option if you want something warm to eat. Not exactly a highlight, but okay.

barBurrito

Description: Barburito is a chain specializing in customizable Tex-Mex dishes such as burritos, bowls, tacos, and nachos. Founded in 2005, the company offers fresh dishes prepared to order with a variety of fillings, salsas, and toppings.

Our rating: Considering it was a fast food bowl, it was very tasty. You could choose all the ingredients individually, and they looked fresh. The concept is similar to Chipotle or Subway. For us, it's definitely an alternative when we're in a hurry and don't feel like eating a burger.
