Vacation homes

Description: We rented the cottage because we wanted to experience living alone in Canada's wild nature. While Lake of Bays is not truly isolated, it is sufficiently remote from larger towns to provide a genuine sense of solitude. We booked the house through Airbnb. It had three bedrooms (upstairs) and was actually oversized for two people, but what can we complain about? There was a huge living room with an open dining room and kitchen. Adjacent to this was a sunroom equipped with a screen. This allows you to sit outside even in summer, when there are likely to be quite a few mosquitoes here. On the ground floor, there was also a great veranda and a utility room with a washing machine, dryer, and an additional guest bathroom. The outdoor area also had a fire pit with plenty of seating. The location was great because, although the house is in the middle of the forest, it is very close to Huntsville and the provincial parks in the area.

Our rating: This house was simply wonderful. Everything was modern, clean, and very well maintained. We felt very welcome. The house was decorated for fall and we were greeted with a bottle of red wine. The kitchen was fully equipped and there was even coffee waiting for us. It was just a great stay and we can definitely imagine renting a cottage again and spending a longer period of time in one place. An ideal opportunity to slow down a little on vacation.
