Gardiner

Description: Gardiner is a small town north of Yellowstone NP. The city mainly lives from tourism. There are numerous hotels, restaurants, stores, campgrounds and all kinds of providers for various recreational activities. Thus, Gardiner is one of the towns around Yellowstone NP that is home to the numerous tourists that visit the park. Since it is on the only road to the national park that stays open in the winter, it is in season all year round.

Our rating: A nice little place that is good to use as a stop for a visit to the National Park. A nice spot is the Roosevelt Gate as the entrance to Yellowstone NP. Normally you can drive through the gate. During our visit in June 2015 there was unfortunately a huge construction site.
