West Yellowstone
Description: This small Montana town is the western gateway to Yellowstone NP. For many visitors it serves as a base with many motels, restaurants and stores.
The city is also home to the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center. The center, founded in 1993, houses grizzly bears that have become conspicuous in the wild. So that they do not have to be euthanized, they are taken in here. In 1996 a pack of wolves was added. In the meantime there are three packs, which are resident here.

Our rating: West Yellowstone is a typical American small town that lives from tourism. But as a starting point for Yellowstone visits it is really suitable, because you can find everything you need in terms of infrastructure.
