Firehole Lake Drive

Description: Firehole Lake Drive is a 3mi paved junction off the Grand Loop Road. A little south of the Fountain Paint Pots.

Along the road there are some beautiful pools and geysers. Especially the Great Fountain Geyser is very impressive. It erupts in an interval of 8-12 hours. Another very nice geyser is White Dome Geyser. Here you usually do not have to wait very long for an eruption. Its interval is between 10 minutes and 3 hours. Also the Hot Lake is very interesting, because here it bubbles and hisses also at all corners and ends.

Our rating: Firehole Lake Drive is worth a side trip. You can see some very nice pools and geysers without much effort. We have driven along the road a few times and always liked it very much.
