Biscuit Basin

Description: Biscuit Basin is one of the geothermal formations on the Grand Loop Rd. The group is isolated, but is part of the Upper Geyser Basin. After an earthquake in 1959 and the resulting eruption of Sapphire Spring, the face of the Biscuit Basin changed significantly.

Like almost everywhere, there is a planked trail to walk between the pools and geysers. The trail is flat and easy to walk. If you invest 1-2 hours, you should have explored the main formations of the basin.

Our rating: The Biscuit Basin is very small, but we liked it very much. We were particularly taken with the turquoise wall pool. It offers great photo opportunities. But we also found the rest of the group well worth seeing.
