Description: Blacktail Plateau Drive is an unpaved turnoff from Grand Loop Rd between Mammoth and Tower Junction. The road is 6mi long and runs slightly above the paved road. In dry weather it can be driven in any passenger car.
Our rating: We wanted to escape the hustle and bustle a little and have hoped to meet a bear in the loneliness perhaps. Unfortunately, we had no luck, but there were plenty of wildflowers on the meadows. We liked it here quite well and it is a nice way on which you can also have a little peace in Yellowstone NP.
