Dry Falls

Description: The Cliffs of Dry Falls are a remnant of what was once the largest waterfall in the history of the Earth. They are 3,5mi wide and 400ft high. The falls were formed at the end of the last ice age during the gigantic Missoula Flood. When the flood receded, Lower Grand Coulee Canyon was formed below the now dry falls. The water-filled pools below the cliff were formed by washouts.

Our rating: Nowadays, one can hardly imagine how much water must have once flowed here. Even though it may not look spectacular at first glance, we thought the story about the landscape was really interesting.
