Historic Downtown
Description: Venice is a small town on the west coast of Florida. It is located about 12.5mi south of Sarasota. Even if there are no spectacular sights here, the small town is still pretty. Especially the historic old town is worth a look. Along Main Street there are many nice little stores and restaurants. Another attraction are the numerous mermaids and seahorses that were painted by local artists and now delight people everywhere in the city.
Our rating: Venice is certainly not a must-see, but we had fun spending an afternoon here, strolling around the pretty historic old town and looking for the painted sculptures. For us, it's definitely worth a little side trip.
