Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park

Description: The park, the Waterwall and the associated Williams Tower were designed and built together in the 1980s. The Waterwall opened in 1985 and operates daily from 8 am to 9 pm. The facility serves primarily as a tourist attraction in Uptown Houston.

Our rating: We visited the park in March 2018. Certainly not a must see, but quite nice. Around the park, parking is prohibited in most places. However, there is a large parking garage on the west side of the park.

Eleanor Tinsley Park

Description: Eleanor Tinsley Park is located directly at the foot of downtown Houston. It is used for local recreation and so you will meet many joggers and pedestrians here. We visited the park because of the great view of downtown Houston. There are parking lots all along the park. Nevertheless, we had trouble getting a parking spot on the weekend.

Our rating: This park has delivered what we expected: a great view of the skyscrapers of Houston! Because we also had good weather, it was worth the visit to us. We can recommend a visit.

3.5/5

Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center

Description: The Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center is located in southeast Houston. The manned space programs have been coordinated and monitored from here since 1961. There is also a large visitor center from which you can take some guided tours of the site. We visited the Space Center in August 1994.

Our rating: Our visit was a long time ago, but we still remember it fondly. Especially a look at the interior of Mission Control , in which the famous words Houston we have a problem, were received, during the Apollo 13 mission, was great. We don't know what has changed since our visit, but anyone interested in manned spaceflight will certainly not be disappointed here.
