Anna Maria Island

Florida

Our visits: So far 1 visit in October 2022

Cortez Beach

Description: Anna Maria Island is located in front of the town of Bradenton right at the entrance into Tampa Bay. Cortez Beach is one of the many beautiful beaches on the island. It is located in the small village of Bradenton Beach. The large, beautiful sandy beach invites you to spend a relaxing day at the ocean.

Our rating: We were here in November 2022 for a little stroll along the ocean. We really enjoyed walking along the beach and collecting shells. The beach was very clean and rather uncrowded. We would stop here again anytime.

Bridge Street

Description: Located in the small town of Bradenton Beach, Bridge Street leads out into Sarasota Bay via a pretty pier. There are many pretty stores and restaurants along the street, inviting tourists to stroll and linger.

Our rating: We visited Bridge Street in November 2022 and had a lot of fun discovering the stores and buying a souvenir or two. The pier had numerous sea birds to observe. We were even lucky that a mother dolphin with her baby passed right by the pier during our visit. Although the small town is very touristy, we experienced it as very relaxed and pleasant.

Rod Reel Pier/City Pier

Description: The Rod Reel Pier and the City Pier are two of several historic piers along the coast on Anna Maria Island. Today they serve mainly for tourist purposes and you will often find restaurants or stores on them.

Our rating: We passed these two piers on our round trip across the island in November 2022. Although we did not explore them more closely, we found them quite interesting as photo motifs. From our point of view, they are worth a little stop. If we visit again, we can also imagine eating in one of the restaurants and enjoying the sunset.
