Tupelo

Description: For all Elvis fans Tupelo is probably a must, because here he was born on 08.01.1935. Accordingly, there is pride here in the famous resident. Thus, there are several places that have been preserved in honor of the King of Pop. In town you can take a look at the Hardware Store, where Elvis' mother bought him his first guitar. Also in the city there is a statue erected in memory of the famous son of the city.
There is a larger area around his birthplace, which is located a little outside the city center, with a museum that can be visited. If you want to visit all these locations, you can definitely spend a good half day here.

Our rating: Since we are not huge Elvis fans, a quick look was enough for us. The museum and the birthplace were not open during our visit in October 2016, so the decision about a detailed visit was taken from us. For us, not an absolute must see, but it is worth a brief look. Real fans certainly invest more time here.
