Coffee, coffee, coffee...

Treat from the coffee bean

Getting delicious coffee in the US was very difficult for a long time. Then came Starbucks... unfortunately, even that is not always a source of pure joy. It's difficult if you're not really into coffee where you have to choose from a thousand different options, or if you don't want to cover a week's worth of calories with just one coffee. To get a normal espresso is sometimes very difficult, because on the one hand there are hardly any cups that have a capacity of less than 17oz and on the other hand there are 99% no real cups in the stores, certainly not in espresso size. Despite all this, however, it should also be said that we like Starbucks quite well and we have also very often brought our caffeine balance back into line. In addition to quite ok coffee, there is also the most delicious lemon cake in the world and a very tasty lime refresher.

In addition to the chains, also more and more small and new coffee places have emerged, some of which offer very tasty coffee. A few of them, which we have visited in recent years we want to share here with all coffee lovers out there. The order is random and does not represent a valuation....

5/5

Our rating:  The Kiva Koffeehouse is always a welcome stop for us when we are traveling up Highway 12. The coffee is very tasty, the snacks and cakes as well and with the view in front of your eyes, you can't really ask for anything more. We can unreservedly recommend a stop here.

HOMEPAGE

NEW !!!

Description: Matador Coffee Roasting Company is well located in central Flagstaff, just off historic Route 66. The store is nicely decorated and invites you to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee.

nce we stayed at the Highland Country Inn Motel next door, which doesn't serve breakfast, we had a good opportunity to get a coffee and a sandwich here.

5/5

Our rating:  The basic requirement of a coffee for us is a good espresso. We were very satisfied with the espresso we got here. We also liked the small store because it had a nice atmosphere. If you want to make a small coffee stop in Flagstaff, we can recommend the Matador Coffee Roasting Company.

Destination Awake Coffee & Bakery

87 S Main St, Blanding, UT 84511
HOMEPAGE

NEW !!!

Our rating:  We were pleased that there is a small store in Blanding where you can get delicious coffee. Because there was not really a good breakfast in our hotel across the street, we were twice as happy to have a possibility to have breakfast here. Everything we tried we found delicious.

NEW !!!

Durango Joes Coffee

918 E Main St, Farmington, NM 87401
HOMEPAGE

NEW !!!

Our rating:  Durango Joes Coffee is a chain of small coffee shops around Durango and Farmington. Here you can get Drive Inn style coffee and all kinds of mixed drinks. The disadvantage is that in America it is common to drink coffee in any conceivable combination, which sometimes leads to very complex manufacturing processes. If you have someone in front of you in the queue who orders eight Frappucchinos with special requests, the wait can be very long and annoying at times. Especially if you just want a normal espresso yourself. But once it's your turn, the coffee tastes very good.

5/5

Moab Coffee Roasters

90 N Main St, Moab, UT 84532
HOMEPAGE

Our rating:  The Moab Coffee Roasters are located in the middle of Moab right next to the post office. Every time we wanted to get a coffee here it was full and we had to stand in line for quite a while. That this is a good sign we could tell, because we also liked the coffee very much. Besides coffee, there were also pastries and other sweet treats. In addition to some tables inside, there is also a relatively large outdoor area where you can enjoy your coffee in the sun.

5/5

Dark Sky Coffee

178 E Main St, Torrey, UT 84775

Our rating:  Dark Sky Coffee is a small drive-through coffee shop in Torrey. They serve all kinds of hot and cold drinks, plus small plates for breakfast.

We really liked the coffee here. The only drawback was the long waits when you were unlucky enough to have people in front of you in line ordering half the menu.

4/5

Willow Canyon Outdoor

263 S 100 E, Kanab, UT 84741
HOMEPAGE

Our rating:  Willow Canyon Outdoor is not a coffee place in the usual sense, but an outdoor store with a small coffee counter. Since there is very tasty coffee here, however, this is also our place to go when we are in Kanab or drive by. Since the store is also very pretty, we can also highly recommend a stop here.

Update April 2022: There are now a few places in Kanab that offer coffee. However, Willow Canyon Outdoor still has the best coffee by far in our opinion.

5/5

Croissant & co.

323 W Venice Ave, Venice, FL 34285
HOMEPAGE

Our rating:  We discovered this nice little bakery during our stroll through the historic old town of Venice. As soon as we entered, it smelled delicious of coffee and freshly baked pastries. We also liked the coffee very much and so the little café gets our recommendation for a little stopover.

5/5

Blackbird Espresso

503 N Main St, Spearfish, SD 57783
HOMEPAGE

Our rating:  We liked the Blackbird Espresso because it had a nice terrace where you could enjoy the very tasty coffee. The scone also tasted very good. We would stop here again at any time.

5/5

City on a Hill Coffee & Espresso

508 Harrison Ave, Leadville, CO 80461
HOMEPAGE

Our rating:  City on a Hill Coffee & Espresso is a little coffee house in Leadville, Colorado. We discovered it while strolling through town. There is also a roastery here and so the store is not only nicely decorated, it also smells really delicious. In addition to really good coffee, there are also snacks and cakes to choose from. This we have not tried, but it all looked delicious and was appetizingly presented. We can also unreservedly recommend this coffee place for a coffee break.

5/5

The Coffee Trader

845 E Main St, Montrose, CO 81401
HOMEPAGE

Our rating:  The Coffee Trader is a nice little coffee place with a sun terrace in Montrose. It was homey and cozy and to top it off, the coffee and pastries were very tasty. In addition, there are also hearty snacks, but we have not tried those. Attached is a small store where you can buy everything possible about coffee. Here, too, we would always go for a coffee and enjoy the sun on the terrace.

5/5

Scoops

205 Broadway Ave S, Red Lodge, MT 59068
HOMEPAGE

Our rating:  Scoops is also a nice little coffee shop. In addition to delicious coffee in a nice ambience, there is also a large selection of pizza and other delicacies. However, we did not try these. We would also take a coffee break here again at any time.

5/5

Wagon Train Coffee Shop

10080 Donner Pass Rd, Truckee, CA 96161

Our rating:  Here, the coffee tasted very good and the ambience was also quite nice. In addition, you could sit outside and watch the hustle and bustle on the street. Small deductions are only for the somewhat gummy croissants. Here, too, we would definitely drink a coffee again.

4.5/5

Cambria Coffee Roasting Company

761 Main St, Cambria, CA 93428

Our rating:  As the name suggests, the coffee for the store is freshly roasted here. It smells of coffee from afar and the scent invites you to come closer. Not only did we enjoy the coffee here, but also the croissants. Here we would drink coffee again and definitely also take a breakfast croissant.
