We spend the morning at Hollywood Lake Park and Griffith Observatory. Then we head for the coast. Because of the holiday weekend we are stuck in traffic until Santa Barbara. In Morro Bay there is dense fog, in Cambria fortunately the sun is shining. Stopover in Pismo Beach at Old West Chinnamon Rolls.

The drive to Hearst Castle takes about 30 minutes. You can plan half a day for Hearst Castle. Then we drove, with numerous stops, up the coast in direction Monterey.

Monterey in the morning. There is fog on the coast. In San Francisco the sun is shining. Therefore we and 1000s others drive to the Golden Gate Bridge. Battery Spencer and Baker Beach for sunset. At Baker Beach it is very cold and windy.

Day 7
We use the Big Bus Hop on Hop off for our days in San Francisco. From our hotel there is a shuttle from Big Bus to Station 1, so you don't have to wait until 10:30am for the first bus to come by. Early in the morning we take the shuttle to Pier 39 again. Program: Alcatraz. For this you can also plan at least half a day. Pier 39 - lunch at the Hard Rock Café, fog rolls in, so we mainly use the bus in the afternoon.

In the morning Luke's movie and Mosaic Stairway in San Francisco. It is still too foggy for the viewpoints. Since the hotel is right by Old Town, you can walk to everything in Sacramento.
