This is my (Ursula's) first tour that I took with my parents in 1992. In the 90s, unfortunately, we did not make so many notes about our trip. Many of the things we did have changed in the meantime. Some of the hotels we stayed in don't exist anymore and therefore an evaluation after more than 20 years doesn't make much sense. So here is only the route with the places where we stayed.
Tour memories
This tour was in principle typical for first-time travelers in the southwest. In 1992, we basically only had guidebooks available for planning and so we then also mainly drove to the highlights described there. So we drove in 18 days from San Francisco to Las Vegas and afterwards we were in New York City for 4 days.
One thing that became clear to me on this trip was that I would definitely want to come back. How much more the USA really had to offer, however, only became clear in the course of the many further visits.
