Central Park

Uptown Manhattan - New York City

Central Park

Description: Central Park is the green lung of Manhattan and is located in Uptown New York City. It is over 2.5mi long and almost 2953ft wide. The huge park offers countless opportunities for recreation. Among other things, there are several lakes, playgrounds, sculptures, restaurants and a zoo. The park was completed in 1873 and has been a National Historic Landmark since 1963.

One of the many attractions in the park is Strawberry Field. A memorial to John Lennon, which was established by his wife Yoko Ono after his death. However, there is always something going on in Central Park. No matter if it is a concert or a sports event, there is always something happening here.

Our rating: The park is huge and there is a lot to see. During our visit in May 2016 we walked once across the park on the Bethesda Walk. You will not only pass Strawberry Field but also some other interesting buildings, sculptures and lakes. We recommend this walk to get a little insight into the park.
