Green Mountains

Description: The Green Mountains are a low mountain range in Vermont. Especially in autumn you can enjoy the typical Indian summer with spectacularly colored forests. Because of the high altitude, the trees here usually change color as early as mid-September. But as always when it comes to nature, it is often very difficult to predict when exactly what takes place. Thus, leaf coloration can also start several weeks earlier or later from year to year. A prediction of the leaf colorations in the U.S. can be found here .

Our rating: In mid October 2013, we drove through the Green Mountains. As you can tell from the pictures, most of the leaves had long since fallen from the trees. That's why the whole scene was not very attractive. For a really beautiful leaf color you have to be here certainly earlier in the year.
