*The Anual Pass is so to speak the "flat rate" for all Parks managed by the National Park Service. The pass costs a one-time fee of $80 and can be purchased at the entrance to each National Park, National Monument, etc. The pass is valid for 13 months.

Crazy Horse
Description: Crazy Horse ist oder wird einmal das Memorial für den Ogala-Lakota Crazy Horse. Mit dem Bau wurde 1948 begonnen. Da das ganze Projekt ausschließlich privat finanziert wird, geht der Bau entsprechend langsam voran. Obwohl bisher schon mehr als 10Millionen Tonnen Gestein aus dem Berg gesprengt wurde, ist eine Fertigstellung noch lange nicht in Sicht. Wenn die Skulptur einmal fertig ist, wird sie 195m lang und 172m hoch sein. Man kann das Memorial besuchen. Es gibt ein Visitor Center und Touren zum Fuß des Berges.
Our rating: We visited Crazy Horse for the first time in 1994. It was quite interesting, but at that time you couldn't see much more than the plans at the Visitor Center and the unfinished Memorial from the observation deck. When we were back in the Black Hills in 2017, we only took a look at the Memorial from the road. The construction progress was only limited and so we did not pay the entrance fee again. It is certainly interesting to visit the Visitor Center and the Memorial once, but for now we do not feel the need for a revisit.
