Roadside Attractions

Description: Roadside attractions are small or large, more or less weird things that can be found everywhere along the roadside. They can also be found everywhere in Michigan, you just have to keep your eyes peeled.

Our rating: We like the stops at these mostly cool small and large attractions, which often interrupt long journeys on our road trips and give us a chance to stretch our legs.

The Troll Benny Beardfisher

Description: Benny the Beard Fisher is a troll created by artist Thomas Dambo. He has many friends and relatives scattered all over the world. If you want to know the exact locations of the trolls, you can find them on the artist's website. Benny can be found in Germfask, very close to the Seney National Wildlife Refuge, on the grounds of a campground.

Admission fees: $10/Vehicle
Opening hours: Open daily to sunset

Our rating: We like unusual places and things, so it was clear that we would also pay Benny a visit. If we ever encounter another troll by Thomas Dambo, we will definitely visit it too. For us, the visit was worth the $10.
