underline;\"><strong>Beschreibung:<\/strong><\/span> Das Fort Clark diente Mitte des 19.Jahrhunderts als Grenzstation f\u00fcr den Staat Texas. An einem strategisch wichtigen Punkt positioniert, geh\u00f6rte es zu einer Reihe Forts, die an der Grenze zu Mexiko errichtet wurden. Sie dienten u.a. auch dazu, die Stra\u00dfe nach El Paso, die Milit\u00e4risch wichtig war, zu sch\u00fctzen.\u00a0<\/p><p>Bis 1946 diente es dem Milit\u00e4r als Basis. Seit 1979 ist es im National Register of Historic Places aufgenommen. Heute hat das Fort mehrere Funktionen. Es gibt ein Hotel, einen Campingplatz und viele M\u00f6glichkeiten der Freizeitgestaltung. So z.B. auch einen Golfplatz. Einige der historischen Geb\u00e4ude k\u00f6nnen besichtigt werden, andere sind dauerhaft bewohnt.<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Unsere Bewertung:<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0Wir sind mehr oder weniger zuf\u00e4llig auf das Fort gesto\u00dfen, weil wir uns auf unserem Weg nach San Antonio die Beine vertreten wollten. Es ist zwar ganz interessant durch die Stra\u00dfen zu fahren, aber f\u00fcr uns ist das kein <em>must see<\/em>.\u00a0<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Noch ein kleiner Hinweis:<\/strong><\/span> M\u00f6chte man in das Fort hineinfahren, muss man am Tor seine Personalien angeben.
