Moab
Description: In the mid-19th century, the area that is now the city served mainly as a crossing point over the Colorado River. It wasn’t until the end of the century that Mormons established the first small settlement. Today, Moab is clearly dominated by tourism. Not only the two national parks, Arches and Canyonlands, but the entire area surrounding the city attracts countless people every year who come here to spend their vacations. Hiking, climbing, rafting, and driving jeeps through the terrain are just a few of the activities available here.
Our rating: Moab is great and we like the small town very much. This is because it is also super conveniently located and there is a lot to experience in the area. The only really big downer are the exorbitant prices that you have to pay for lodging here. Unfortunately, you can usually only find affordable rooms in the winter months. This means rooms that have at least a somewhat fair price-performance ratio.
